Music Video Treatment Outline

Song using:

Hayley Williams' cover of 'Use Somebody' By Kings Of Leon

Reason:

  • Not the typical love song ideology
  • The Story fits in with the song
  • Allows freedom to experiment with conventional and unconventional features
  • All group member equally accept it

The Pitch:

We are making a music video to go with Use Somebody, originally by Kings Of Leon. We have chosen the version/cover by Hayley Williams as this would be an appropriate option, so that we can have a character in our music video to lip sync to it. Our main decision to choose this song to for our project was influenced by the main themes of love and post break-up depression; These themes are well known and can often relate to our target audience of Young Adults.

Target Audience and how you will appeal to them:

The target audience are young people who are closely in touch with the new music/songs in the music industry. Our main subject of the music video, love, can be directly linked to young peoples life and the consequences of it. It will also make it easier for young people to understand the same emotion which is displayed in the video, as many will have experienced something like it at one point.

Example Profile:

  • Teenager (13-19 year olds)
  • High School Students
  • Was in a relationship, but overcoming the heartache
  • Loves very emotional songs which can describe their feelings at that moment in time
  • Has all the new songs, and is always listening to them
  • Influenced by friends and family
  • Likes calm, or acoustic music
  • Owns a music player/ iPod etc
